I would like to introduce myself. My name is Beth Ratway. I am a senior consultant in state services at Learning Point Associates. I work with state education agencies and intermediate school districts to develop innovative 21st century systems that improve academic achievement for all students. I have 16 years of experience in public school education and teach undergraduate social studies methods courses. I have worked in middle and high schools as a social studies teacher, teacher consultant, and district level professional development coordinator. I was the social studies consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for four years. I am a board member of NCSS and WCSS. I am also currently pursuing a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, focusing on professional development, at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
We are going to use this space to share resources, keep notes and to continue our discussions. Our first meeting this year together is on Friday, January 22nd. I am in the process of putting together an agenda but would like some input from you first. Please answer the FOUR discussion questions (click on discussion tab and reply to each question) by Monday, January 18th.
